Died peacefully on Saturday, February 16, 2002 at her home in the Glebe Centre. Born in 1906, the second child of William and Annie Eldorado, Hastings County, Ontario. Ena was predeceased by her sister Isobel, brothers Moore and Leonard, and her husband, Frederick. A musician and teacher, Ena served as organist for St. Bartholomew's Church, Bannockburn, before moving to Ottawa in 1952. Graduate of the Ontario Hospital, Whitby (Class of 1934) she worked in her profession, notably the Ottawa Civic Hospital, Department of Psychiatry. Her calm and generous disposition, sparked with humour and fun, remained steadfast through years of illness and encourages all people to hold to the goodness of life, the foundations of family and the love of Almighty God. Ena is mourned by her dear sister, Margaret Long, her son and daughter-in-law Sandford and Dixie, daughters Margaret and Anne and son-in-law Sol Shmelzer, grandchildren Cynthia and David Powell and family, Terence and Lisa and family, David and Peter, and nieces and nephews. Funeral and interment will take place at Capital Memorial Gardens, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2002. Friends are invited to visit the family, after the service, and each afternoon from 3 p.m. until Friday. The Ottawa Citizen, 18-02-2002
