Alfie was born June 9, 1911 and died February 16, 2002 at the Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre (PRVHC) with his niece Leith (Trick) by his side. Predeceased by his parents Tom and Maud (Armstrong) and brothers Edgar and Howard (Rita St. Amour). Brother of Grace (Carson), Leith (Zinck) of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Stewart (Ora) and Doris (Mather). Many wonderful nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews will mourn everyone's favourite uncle. Alf was a Flying Officer Wireless Air Gunner attached to Squadron 354 R.A.F. where he completed a tour of duty on coastal command operating out of India. A Service in Memory of Alf will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pinecrest Cemetery Chapel (2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa). Reverend Allan Gallichan officiating. Donations to P.R.V.H.C., 1750 Russell Road, Ottawa. The family would like to thank the staff of P.R.V.H.C. for the marvelous compassionate care during his time there. The Ottawa Citizen, 18-02-2002
