Dr. Ratimir Cvetanovic was a research scientist born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, May 19, 1913; son of the late Josif and Natalija (Urosevic). Beloved husband of Jean MacDonald. Loving father of Michael, Angela Lynch (Terry) and Nadine Gareau (Edward). Devoted grandfather of Conor, Brittany, Kiernan, Tyler, Alison, Maggie and Lauren. University degrees were converged on him in 1936 from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland; from the University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia in 1941; from the University of Toronto in 1950 and a Ph.D in 1950. He served in WWII as Reserve Lieut. in the Yugoslav Calvary army. Head, Kinetics, Photochemistry and Catalysis Section, Division of Chemistry, National Research Council 1952-78;-80; author of numerous scientific papers and articles in the field of Chemistry. In 1955 he was a Special Lecturer at the University of Toronto; in 1963 a Visiting Professor at Cornell University, N.Y., in 1964 a Visiting Professor, Dept. of Chemistry, University of California (Davis); in 1967 an Overseas Fellow, Churchill College, Cambridge, U.K. In 1979 a Distinguished lecturer at the University of California (Irvine). From 1980 to 1989 - Senior Research Scientist, Office of Environmental Measures, Nat. Bureau of Standards, Washington, D.C. Friends may pay respects at a Mass in Memory of Dr. Cvetanovic, Saturday at St-Margaret Mary's Church, Cumberland at 10 a.m. Donations to the Centre D'Acceuil Roger Seguin appreciated.
