A resident of Chatham, died at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance - Public General Campus on Monday, February 25, 2002 at the age of 84. Born in Midland, Ontario, son of the late Charles and Rachel (Vanderburgh) Pilson. His greatest love in life was his late wife Schirley (Cohen) Pilson (December 3, 1991). Dear father of Ashton and his wife Patricia of Ottawa, Charles and his wife Mary of Nepean and Timothy and his wife Krista of Chatham. Loving grandfather of Peter, Nathan, Rebecca, Jennifer, Jacqueline, Trevor, Vanessa and Elizabeth. Great-grandfather of Joshua and Thomas. Predeceased by brothers Edward and Vern Pilson and sister Irene Ritchie. Also survived by nieces and nephews Duane and Laurie Pilson, Michael Pilson, Susan McGuire, Bonnie Yarronton and Susan Harris. Allan retired as bank manager of Bank of Nova Scotia, Chatham, after 43 years of service. He had been active throughout his life with the Boy Scouts and various charities including the Children's Aid Society. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Church, Chatham Granite Club and Maple City Golf Club. Allan was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Masonic Lodge. At Allan's request, cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday, February 28, 2002 from 2-4:30 and 7-9 p.m. Donations to a charity of one's choice appreciated.
