Passed away peacefully on March 18, 2002. Born March 11, 1910 in Borden, Saskatchewan, she spent her early life in Brandon, Manitoba. Myrtle is survived by her husband, Charles, his four sisters, Mary, Jean, Isabelle, and Mabel, her niece Judy (Dave) Holden, and various nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews who thought the world of her. "Auntie Myrtle" was a special person to all who knew her. She was predeceased by her sisters, Vera Littlejohn, and Isabel Duncan, and her nephew Donald Duncan. Myrtle spent much of her life in Ottawa where she enjoyed her work at the National Art Gallery, where, for some time she was secretary to the Assistant-Director. She travelled a great deal right up to her death to maintain strong family ties in Winnipeg and Ontario. Myrtle married Charles on January 1, 1942 and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. A memorial service will be held at Gordon Head United Church, 4201 Tyndall, on Saturday, March 23 at 3:00 p.m. Donations can be made to the Victoria Hospice Society, 1900 Fort St., Victoria, B.C. or to a charity of your choice.
