Died peacefully at the Willett Hospital in Paris, Ontario on March 24th in her 68th year. Beloved wife of the late Reverend George Douglas Young. Eldest daughter of the late Andrew Peever and Lillian Proctor of Renfrew. Much loved sister of Glen (Barbara) Peever of Smiths Falls and Beverley (Lyle) McCall of Rideau Ferry. Well loved stepmother of Beverly Wiebe of Calgary and Stan (Darla) Young of Lethbridge. Special aunt to Wendy McCall and Glenda Peever and step-grandmother of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After gaining her teacher's certification, Anna Lou taught for 10 years within the Ottawa Public School Board. For over 30 years she was a Staff Associate at Five Oaks Christian Workers' Centre, near Paris, Ontario. Before and after retirement, Anna Lou worked extensively for a variety of committees of the United Church of Canada, both the Presbytery and Conference Levels. Following her retirement from Five Oaks, Anna Lou taught as a supply teacher for 10 years with the Brant County Board of Education. Anna Lou has touched the lives of many people both in her work as a teacher and in her dedication to the work and ideals of the United Church. She has been friend and advocate, teacher and community-builder and especially a source of enduring strength and loyalty to all those she so generously welcomed into her hospitable and warm friendship. Anna Lou will be truly missed by her wide circle of friends and family. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave. on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. Interment Thompsonville Cemetery, Renfrew. Donations to the five Oaks Christian Centre, Paris, in Anna Lou's memory, would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted for Anna Lou in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
