(nee Charlebois) Of Wilmot, Nova Scotia passed away quietly at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton on March 25, 2002, after a long illness at the age of 82. Born in Ottawa, she served in the Royal Canadian Air Force Signals Corps during World War II during which time she met and married Allan T. Sabean of Halifax. A past president of the Saint Mary's Ladies Auxiliary, she was a founding member and past president of the Saint Mary's University Faculty Women's Association. She was a member of the Middleton chapter of the I.O.D.E. and a 50-year member of the Catholic Women's League. She taught French at the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Halifax for many years. In her retirement she was, for a time, chairman of the Parish Council at Saint Monica's Catholic Church in Middleton and was instrumental in facilitating major renovations to the church. She also taught Sunday School in the parish and volunteered at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Madelene, and her parents, husband, sister and eight brothers. She is survived, and will be greatly missed, by her sons Brent (Carol) of Ottawa and Chris of Wilmot, daughters Marjorie (Jerry) Dodson of Halifax and Eleanor (Peter) Walsh of Oakland, Maine, six grandchildren, Andrea, Jenn, Bret, Allan, Emma, and Max, and her brother Rene (Aline) Charlebois of Ottawa.
