BROWN, Lorna Ida 2008-12-08 Mrs. Lorna Ida Brown, age 83 years, resident of Red Rock, Ontario, passed away on Friday December 5th, 2008. Born on July 23rd, 1925 in Cumberland, Ontario and moved to Red Rock in 1949 where she met her husband Bill. She taught in all three schools in Red Rock and retired as the Art Teacher at the Nipigon-Red Rock District High School in 1986. Lorna enjoyed art, her students, birds and nature. Lorna is survived by her husband Bill of 57 years, daughter Jennifer of Thunder Bay, son Joel (Kim) of Dorion; grandchildren Zane and Rachael (Jesse); and great-grandchildren Morgan and Audrey. Also survived by sister Gladys Sharkey and sister-in-law Vida Wade both of Cumberland, Ontario. Sister-in-law Betty Godfrey of Marathon; nieces and nephews and other relatives. She was predeceased by her son Jeffrey, by parents Sarah and Ernest Edwards and brother Lester Edwards. Cremation has taken place and Interment will be held with the family at a later date. In remembrance of Lorna Brown friends are invited to drop in for coffee at the Red Rock Legion Branch 226 on Tuesday December 9th between 2pm and 4pm. Thank you to the staff of the 4th floor of Pioneer Ridge and the long term care staff of Nipigon Memorial District Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer‘s Society of Thunder Bay or the Red Rock United Church.
