MURPHY, Patricia Lawrence (Landers, nee Mason) Passed away peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home with all the grace and dignity with which she lived, after a courageous battle with cancer, her husband and family at her side. Pat will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by her husband, Vern; her children, Michael (Nancy), Kelli (Rick), both of Ottawa; Chris in Charlottetown; and Danny (Dana) in Toronto. Also by her stepchildren, Karen (Ken) in Charlottetown and Sean in Toronto. Sharing in the grief of her passing are her sister, Marlene (Bill) Vaughan; her brothers, Terry (Mary) Mason and Larry Mason, also from Saint John. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret (Whipple) and Lawrence Mason; her sister, Carole (Seale); and her sister-in-law, Susie (Larry) Mason, all from Saint John, N.B. Nanny Pat will never be forgotten by her grandchildren, Nick, Liam, Mason, Mac, Ella, Gracie, Jaydon, Avah and Madison. Her many friends in Saint John, Fredericton, Cape Breton, Ottawa, across Canada and in Boynton Beach, Florida, will certainly remember Pat as a former Member of Common Council for the City of Saint John and as an appointed Member of the Veteran’s Review and Appeal Board in Charlottetown. Visitation will take place at the Castle Funeral Home, Fallsview Chapel, Saint John, on Thursday, December 11, 2008, from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, December 12, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Saint John, N.B., at 10 a.m. A reception will follow at the church hall. Cremation has taken place. She will be laid to rest with her parents at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery in Saint John. A memorial service will be held at the Belvedere Funeral Home in Charlottetown on Monday, December 15, 2008, at 10 a.m. Her positive outlook on life, her knowing advice, her quick smile, her easy laugh and her loving hugs will be remembered by everyone her life touched.
