HIGGINS, Jean Helen 2008-12-11 It is with great sadness that family and friends announce the passing of Jean Helen Higgins at her home in Roseview Manor, Thunder Bay on Sunday, November 30, 2008. Jean was born in Thunder Bay on October 12, 1916, the younger daughter of Thomas and Ruth Annie Higgins of Vancouver and Thunder Bay. She was a valued employee of CanCar for many years, and a long-time member of Wesley United Church and their church choir. Jean is predeceased by her parents as well as her brother, Art Higgins of Thunder Bay and her brother-in-law, Glenn Heath of Stirling, Ontario. Her loss is mourned by her surviving sister, Ruth Heath of Stirling as well as her sister-in-law, Florence Higgins of Thunder Bay. She will also be sadly missed by her dear friend, Muriel Quirk of Winnipeg, Manitoba who has remained Jean‘s constant friend and caregiver since childhood, and by Muriel‘s children, grandchildren and great granddaughter who have all grown up basking in "Jeanie‘s" love and care. Jean‘s family and friends extend heartfelt gratitude to her long-time volunteer, Margaret Campbell who has dedicated many hours over many years to Jean‘s comfort and happiness. Sincere appreciation is also extended to the staffs at Central Park Lodge and Roseview Manor for the kindness and care that you have all given her. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Jenkens Funeral Home. If friends wish, a donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
