LEROUX, Hilda 2008-12-16 Hilda Leroux, age 90 years, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Hospice after a brief illness. Hilda was born March 18, 1918 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the twin daughter of Luke and Rebecca Gothard. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Fort William. Hilda married George Leroux on July 2, 1943. Hilda was an avid reader, She enjoyed going out for morning coffee with Bonnie and her coffee friends at Robins, her weekly TOPS meetings, and Sunday dinners with her extended family. She had a special bond with her great grandchildren, always looking forward to their visits or talking on the telephone about how their day had been. Hilda was an accomplished seamtress, starting her career with Chapples and after her daughters were older, she worked at Chesterfield House sewing curtains. She also did lots of sewing for her friends and family and also enjoyed doing very delicate crafts. She really excelled in these endeavours. She will be missed by her daughters Valerie (Geoff) Todd, Wendy (Joe) Molly; grandsons Michael (Lisa), Colin (Yvonne), and Ryan (fiance Jodie); 6 great grandsons and one great grandaughter; sister Lillian and many nieces and nephews. Hilda was predeased by her husband George; parents Luke and Rebecca Gothard; brothers Ernie, Norman and twin brother Harry and her niece Joan Gothard. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May St. at Cameron in care of arrangements.
