Dr. David Howard Johnson July 30, 1953 - December 7, 2008 David died suddenly while running in the river valley in Edmonton. He was loved by his wife, Bibiana Cujec, his children, Kyle and Kate Johnson, his brother, Peter (Francine), his mother, Laurette, his uncle Claude, family in Granby, Quebec as well as many colleagues and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Howard Johnson and his aunt, Lilly Duquette. David graduated from McGill medical school in 1980 and completed training in internal medicine, anesthesia, critical care medicine and community medicine. He was a Medical Officer of Health and the residency program director for community medicine.. He had previously been Director of the Intensive Care Unit at the Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon and medical consultant at Alberta Health and Wellness. He was passionate about research and solving problems. His strength, wise counsel and caring are gifts to all who knew him. A Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at South Side Memorial Chapel, 8310-104 Street Edmonton, A.B. In his memory, the family wishes to support a facility improvement project at the Kinsmen Sports Centre.
