Mr. Jontia Leshawn Whynder June 06, 1984 - October 29, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) WHYNDER, Jontia Leshawn - 21, North Preston, died suddenly on October 29, 2005, in North Preston as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was a son of Vernona Whynder "Candy" and Blair Fraser. He was a member of Saint Thomas United Baptist Church. He graduated from Cole Harbour District High School in 2002. He was involved in various sports, such as basketball and wrestling, both of which he really enjoyed. He was a gentle giant who was well-loved by young and old alike. He always had a bright smile that made you feel warm when you saw him. He was looked up to by the younger children who took him as a big brother. Though he was big, he was always my little boy. Besides his parents, he is survived by his girlfriend, Shayeita Morris, and his 2 1/2 month old son, Lashawn. He is also survived by his special little sister, Lakara, as well as his other sisters, Tylea, Janita, Bianca; grandparents, Judy Whynder and Peter Clayton, and special aunt, Minnie Colley. He was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Nelson and Ruby Whynder, and paternal grandparents, Ernest and Janet Fraser. Visitation 7-9 p.m., funeral 1 p.m. Wednesday, both in North Preston Community Centre. Interment in North Preston Cemetery. Reception to follow in the community centre.
