Edgar William (Bill) Bannister 1927-2005 Edgar William (Bill) Bannister of Lakeview Manor, Riverview and formerly of Byng Court, Moncton passed away peacefully on Monday, October 31, 2005 surrounded by his daughters and granddaughter at the age of 78. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Leta (Jonah). Bill loved to laugh, usually at his own jokes, and loved life to its fullest. He enjoyed being out of doors, hunting and fishing, and loved his camp and cottage. Bill was previously involved with the Masons, Shriners (Mini Car) and the Lions Club. Prior to retirement, Bill drove bus for Codiac Transit and enjoyed his job tremendously. In the past he had been a truck driver, worked for B/A oil company, and owned his own company, Bannister's Fuels. Bill will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Elva (Ross) Bannister; daughters, Brenda, Debbie Adams (Ernie); granddaughter, Stacey Butler; great granddaughter, Jayme, all of Moncton; sister, Margaret Jenkins, Baddeck, NS; several nieces and nephews in Baddeck, NS. Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) Tuesday 7 to 9. Funeral service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday November 2, 2005, 1pm, Rev. Harold MacDonald officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Cemetery. In Bill's memory donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital or Luxor Shriners' Hospitals would be appreciated. [Times & Transcript]
