Mrs. Elizabeth Theresa Orosz October 30, 1916 - December 13, 2008 Elizabeth Orosz 1916 – 2008 Elizabeth Orosz, born on October 30, 1916 in St. Laszlo District, SK passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Bethany Pioneer Village, Middle Lake, SK. We say farewell to a warm-hearted and gracious woman who accepted the joys and trials of each day in her life. Elizabeth was a very religious person who spent much of her time praying for her family and for the world; she was remarkably tolerant and non-judgmental. Elizabeth’s life revolved around her twelve children and their families. All these people needed to be fed, and she and Elie loved nothing better than to invite friends and family to eat. One of the favourites was Sunday Soup, which came to symbolize more than a meal. There was always another bowl of soup for someone new at the table. And everyone knew there was always room around the table for another person, just as Elie’s and Elizabeth’s hearts accommodated more in-laws and grandchildren. We called her the Cookie Grandma, because whenever we stopped for a visit, there would be an ice-cream pail of cookies to take home. Elizabeth liked to remind us that she was still a farm girl at heart; on visits and phone calls she asked about the crops, the progress of seeding or harvest and “is it a good crop?” She will be fondly remembered by her children, Theresa (Maurice) Sielski, Helen Kwasnica, Ann (Albert) Muller, Martha Nyuli, Maggie Hrycuik, Laura (Robert) Mead, Lawrence (Gwen) Orosz, Frank (Audrey) Orosz, Agnes (Terry) Lang, Steve (Cori) Orosz, Dorothy (Chuck) Titchener, Tony (Elaine) Orosz; and over 100 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Elizabeth will be missed by her brothers and sisters, Mary (Felix) Hudy, Anne (John) Burns, Martin (Lizzie) Miskolczi, Terry (Paul) Sielski, Linda (Steve) Karlovich, Albert (Margaret) Miskolczi, Irene (Lou) Lajeunesse, Lucy (Pete) Kaszonyi, sister-in-law, Anne Miskolczi and their families. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Elie in 1998; sons-in-law, Roman Kwasnica, Edward Nyuli, Edward Hrycuik; daughter-in-law, Betty Orosz; and brother Gregory Miskolczi. Vigil for Elizabeth will be held at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saints Donatien and Rogatien Roman Catholic Church, Prud’homme, SK on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by Reverend Fr.
