Mr. Jack Spohn March 22, 1940 - December 14, 2008 SPOHN, Jacob (Jack) - March 22, 1940-December 14, 2008 Peacefully, after a 6 year struggle with dementia, on Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Guildwood-Extendicare. Beloved husband of Rosemary (nee Welsh) for 45 years. Loving father of Theresa (Douglas), Michael (Rosemarie) and Deanna (fiance Michael). Loving brother to Mary (George) Virag, predeceased by his brothers Tony, Frank, Joseph and Carl. He will also be missed by his sisters-in-law Irene, Elizabeth and Evelyn and many nieces and nephews. Jack was an admired teacher at Centennial College, whose passion for mathematics, inspired students for 32 years. He was an avid card player, golfer and an enthusiastic member of Tam Heather Curling Club. He was also actively involved in the Catholic faith community. Visitation will be held at the "Scarborough Chapel" of McDougall & Brown, 2900 Kingston Road (east of St. Clair Ave. E.) on Wednesday, Dec. 17 from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, Dec. 18 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place on Friday, Dec. 19 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface R.C. Church, 25 Markanna Drive (Markham Road, south of Eglinton Ave. E.). Interment at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. If desired, donations in his memory may be made to the West Hill Adult Day Program, 4637 Kingston Road, Toronto or the Jacob (Jack) Spohn Scholarship Fund at Centennial College.
