Mrs. Margaret Hooper October 11, 1923 - December 14, 2008 Margaret Hooper Margaret Jean Hooper (Spence) R.N. (Hotel Dieu Hospital, Windsor, Class of 1946) Passed away peacefully in her sleep, on December 15, 2008 in her 85th year. Margaret was a loving wife, a caring mother, a devoted grandmother and a Registered Nurse whose life exemplified love, kindness, compassion and respect. Beloved wife of Jack of 60 years, mother of Janice and her husband Kelley, Robert and his wife Linda and David and his wife Judith. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Amy, Scott, Beth, Jennifer, Cheryl and Shannon and great grandchildren Travis Edward and Jane Margaret. Predeceased by her dear sisters Marion (Jack) and Marjorie (Albert) and her brother Jack (Gertrude). Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law, Muriel Bowes and many nieces, nephews and extended family in Windsor, London, Whitby, Michigan and the Orkney Islands, Scotland. Margaret was a Charter member of Cliffcrest United Church, the UCW - Sunny Circle, Try Anything Once club and a lifetime member of the Ontario Porcelain Artists’ Guild. In Margaret’s professional life as an obstetrical nurse, she help usher many new babies into this world and taught new mothers how to care for their newborns at Toronto East General Hospital and Scarborough Centenary Hospital. Visitation will be held at the “Scarborough Chapel” of McDougall & Brown, 2900 Kingston Road on Thursday, December 18 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. A funeral service will take place in the Chapel on Friday, December 19 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
