Amanda Marie Hayden Reynolds, born October 25, 1980 in Woodstock, NB. I passed away peacefully and happily surrounded by those I love. I lived life in each moment, especially after first being diagnosed with malignant melanoma in January 1999. I was known by everyone who surrounded me for my ear to ear smile and happy attitude. Since being diagnosed with metastatic malignant melanoma in January 2007, I have been surrounded by the most wonderful people in the world. My main cheering team included Mom, Dad and Chris. I could not have done it without you. You gave me a reason to get up each morning and keep fighting. I was blessed to be able to enjoy this time without significant pain and my ability to cherish the last times of my life with my family surrounding me. I was not scared to go, just dreamed that those around me would be blessed and continue to live their lives in happiness even without me. Chris has been by my side since we first met in July 1999 and was never timid of my cancer history. He jumped right in and understood why I felt I needed to live life to its fullest. Since being married in July 2005, we traveled to Europe, worked at jobs we loved, bought a house and tried to start a family. Everything a girl dreams of was what life gave me. I graduated from Woodstock High School in 1998 and then decided to go to Acadia University and study biology. In 2001, I began my four year pharmacy degree at Dalhousie. During my time at Dal, I was involved in the Pharmacy Society and various pharmacy events. During my last year, I served as Graduation Class President . I enjoyed four years surrounded by some of the most caring, fun people I had ever met. The four years at Dal were the best of my life, and some of my favorite times included potluck's with the "Pharm Girls" from PEI. I am survived by my wonderful, caring husband Christopher, my courageous, loving parents Brian and Susan Hayden, my awesome siblings Gregory, Katelyn, Daniel and Rachel; my mother-in-law Heather Reynolds; my friends Chris and Carolyn Silvaggio; my grandparents Ivan and Carrie Hayden and Michael and Marie Conoley; sister and brother-in-law Eric and Tina McNeil; my nephews Logan and Mason McNeil; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends throughout this great world. I also leave behind my cats Maude and Rosa, and my "cancer puppy" Bella. Many thanks to Dr. Hanif Chatur , Dr. Gary Beatty, Dr. Scott Bagnell, and Dr. Michael Wong (Roswell Park, Buffalo) who all believed in my cause and understood why I wanted to go through surgery after surgery to live just a little longer. I am predeceased by my beautiful baby girl, Grace Eva, who passed away January 3, 2007 due to complications of pregnancy . She was my guardian angel who helped discover my cancer recurrence, and if it wasn't for her I would not have been able to spend these last cherished moments with those I care about. I am also predeceased by my Uncle Timothy Conoley (1993), and special Great Uncles Donald Parker (1991), Great Uncle John Fream(1996), and adopted Uncle Budd Kinney (1996). Visiting hours at Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB. On Tuesday December 9th 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Saint James United Church , 120 Chapel Street, Woodstock, NB at 2 pm on Wednesday December 10th at 2 pm. It is my request that if you are attending that you wear no black and a little something yellow to represent my life motto ,"Livestrong", so that you can remember to live life to its fullest and live your dreams too. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Meduxnekeag River Association to keep our wilderness wild, or the Lance Armstrong Foundation ,a foundation that helps cancer survivors of all different types of cancer deal with their diagnosis, or sponsorship for Chris when he rides in the "Ride to Conquer Cancer" for the Princess Margaret Hospital. A special reception in my honor will be held at my parents residence directly following the ceremony. Arrangements entrusted to Scott's Funeral Home, Woodstock, NB.
