The death of Nadine "Dean" Euphemia Blakely wife Byron Blakely of Ferry Road, NB occurred at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at the age of 75. Born in Sillikers, NB, Dean was the daughter of the late William and Alberta (Tozer) Travis. Dean was a homemaker and a member of the Douglastown Senior Citizens Friendship Club and The Bowling Club. Besides her husband Byron, Dean is survived by: one daughter: Heather Dawn Blakely-Johnson (Schuyler) of Perryville, Missouri; five sons: Elmer (Judy) of Charlottetown, PEI, Guy (Debbie) of Nelson, NB, Wayne (Marlene) of Newcastle, NB, Gary of Ferry Road, NB and Byron (Laura) of Millerton, NB; two sisters: Mina Campbell (George) of Warwick Betty Doyle (Delbert) Settlement of Derby Junction, NB; two brothers: George (Joyce) of Cassilis, NB; William (Maureen) of Lower Sackville, NB; nine grandchildren: Paige, Evan, Stephanie, Mikaela, Logan, Allegra, Abbygail, Joshua and Jeremy and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Dean is predeceased by: one sister: Elmira Hubbard and grandson: Chad. The family received visitors at Bell's Funeral Home on Friday from 7 to 9 PM and Saturday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Service was held from St Mark's United Church, Douglastown on Sunday at 3 PM with Rev. Ross Wiseman officiating assisted by Rev. Ron Feltmate. Organist Joanne Wiseman accompanied by the church choir. Choir anthem "I Won't Cross Jordan Alone"; Soloist Billy Mullin; Solo " I Overlooked an Orchid". Congregational and choir hymns:" Abide With Me"and "Safe In The Arms of Jesus". Active Pallbearers: Kevin Campbell, Carmen Travis, Stan Clarke, Glenn Nowlan, Brent Hubbard and Wes Sherrard; Honorary Pallbearers: George Campbell, Mervin Godfrey, Joe Sweeney, Delbert Doyle, Glenn Joudry and Joe Dickson. Burial followed in St. Mark's United Church Cemetery. In Dean's memory a donation may be made to the NB Kidney Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
