Annie Johnston Smith passed away peacefully on November 12, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital with her family at her bedside. Born in Galston, Scotland on June 17, 1920 she was the daughter of the late Annie (Knox) and Samuel Galloway. Annie is survived by her children Marianne (Ralph) Manzer of Fredericton, Earlyne (Richard) Weaver of Havelock and Millage (Jackie) Smith of Moncton, her sister Martha Galloway of Chipman, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Earl K.M. Smith and two brothers Hugh and Robert Galloway. Annie taught school for many years in Plaster Rock. She was a member of the Plaster Rock United Baptist Church and was active in the Women's Missionary Society and the Arthurette prayer group. She was a long time member of the Women's Institute. She loved her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral service will be held on Saturday November 15th at 2 pm from the Plaster Rock United Baptist Church with Rev. Lorne Freake officiating. The hymns for the service were "In The Garden" sung by the congregation, special song written and sung by granddaughter Shelly Ingersol and also "Amazing Grace" sung by Shelly. the eulogy was given by daughters Earlyne Weaver and Marianne Manzer and also granddaughter Charmaine Saunders gave a tribute. Honorary pallbearer was Raymond Galloway and the pallbearers were Jim and Sam Galloway, Robert, Wayne and Sam Malloy and Mark Manzer with interment in the Forest Glen Cemetery.
