MAJOR , RAYMOND The family announces with great sorrow his death after a long courageous battle with cancer at the Timmins & District Hospital on June 11, 2004 at the age of 60 years. He was surrounded by his family and friend Nan. Loving father to Marc of Timmins and his stepson Mark Mallette of Ottawa. Dearest son of Marguerite Major (nee Whissel) and brother of Francoise Walsh and Armand (Alice) both of Timmins. He is also survived by his parents-in-law Mr. & Mrs. John Larocque of North Bay and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He also leaves to mourn his good friends Nanette Beaulieu, Claude Belair, Rosaire Gauthier, Raoul Roy, Gerry Lavergne, Kim Lavergne and many more. Predeceased by his son Richard at birth, his wife Lizette Corbeil (1991), his father Lionel Major (1984), brothers Andre (2000), Marcel (2003) and a brother-in-law Howard Walsh (1998). Raymond worked as a meat cutter and manager for Mike‚s Food Store for many years and Levis Metro (Loeb‚s) until his health worsened. He was a very conscientious worker, loved his work and co-workers that he missed very much. He was an avid outdoors man who loved fishing, hunting and camping. The family would like to express a work of thanks to Bay Shore Health Services, Cancer Society and the V.O.N. nurses especially Joanne for their devoted care and compassion. Also a special thanks to Dr. Raymond as well as the nurses and staff at the Timmins & District Hospital for their excellent care. Raymond will be missed but never forgotten. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 14, 2004 at 12:00 noon from St. Dominique Church. Cremation will follow.
