Dr. Mario Luigi Pellizzari 1924-2004 Dr. Mario Luigi Pellizzari of Crescent Road, St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Sunday, June 27, 2004 at the age of 80 years in the Peterson Hospital, Wheeling, W. Va., U.S.A. He was born March 15, 1924 in Timmins, ON., a son of the late Cav. Antonio Pellizzari and Regina Gazzola Pellizzari. Loving husband of Janet Smith Pellizzari of St. Clairsville, Ohio, and dear father of Richard Pellizzari (wife Lisa, children Richard Antonio II and Michael Anthony) of Clio, Michigan, and Catherine Pellizzari Caucci, Esq., of West Palm Beach, Florida. Dear brother of Adelia Pellizzari Kos (husband Wiktor) of Timmins, nephew Dr. Antonio Kos (wife Jocelyne and grand-nephews Alexander and Antonio) of Sydney, Nova Scotia and nieces Vittoria and Regina Kos of Timmins. Dr. Pellizzari was a retired physician from his family practice in Wheeling, W. Va., a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians; and past member of the Ohio County Medical Society and the American Medical Association. He attended Moneta Public School and Timmins High & Vocational School, where he excelled in sports, rugby and hockey. He was a scholarship student at St. Michael’s College in Toronto and played hockey with Father Bower. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario in London, ON., and studied medicine at the University of Padova, the University of Siena, and he graduated from the world famous Medical School in Bologna, Italy. He met his wife Janet, a dramatic soprano on a Fulbright Scholarship to the Rome Opera, in Siena. She sang with the Philadelphia Orchestra under Eugene Ormandy. They married in Rome, Italy.
