Moncion, René The family announces with sorrow his death at the Anson General Hospital in Iroquois Falls, Thursday, July 1st, 2004, at the age of 80 years. Beloved husband of 49 years to Fleurette (née Blanchette), loving father of Nicole (Yvon) Lessard of Val Gagné, ON, Mona (Kelley) Turner of Iroquois Falls, ON and Lucie (Gerry) Moncion-Johnston of Ajax, ON. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Natasha Lessard, Troy Turner, Joël Lessard, Evan Johnston and Stéfanie Lessard. Survived by his sisters and brothers, Estelle Paquet of Ste-Catherine, QC, Simone (Bob) Cornell of North York, ON, Eva (Allen) Cashmore of Nellie Lake, ON, Honoré (Evelyn) Moncion of Evart, Michigan, Roch Moncion of Iroquois Falls, ON and Henri (Joan) Moncion of Kelowna, B.C. He will be missed by his sister-in-law Noëlla Ouellette of Cochrane, ON as well as his brother-in-law Gaëtan Blanchette of Fauquier, ON. Also survived by one aunt Simone Carrière of Hamilton, ON. Predeceased by his son André (1986), mother Herminine (1994),father Denis (1973), sister Béatrice, brothers-in-law Paul-Emile, Marcel, Camil, Florian and Gérard, as well as sisters-in-law Jeannette, Eliane, Jeannine and Jermine and parents-in-law John and Victoria Blanchette. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a long time employee of Abitibi-Price and a devoted parishioner of Sts. Martyrs Canadiens Church. He was an outdoor enthusiast who loved canoeing, camping and cross-country skiing. He also served his country in WW II.
