The funeral service for Hearst resident Carol Fernand Goulet, 78, of Hwy 11 was held May 8, 2004. He died May 5 in Hearst. Born July 10, 1925 in Disraeli, Quebec, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for Gosselin Lumber Co. and Lecours Lecours Co. in Calstock until age 61. A fourth degree Hearst Knight of Columbus, member of the Club Solo and Club soleil des aîné-e-s and an active volunteer for many organizations, he enjoyed five-pin bowling, carpet bowling, fishing and pétanque. Predeceased by his wife Huguette Goulet in 1969, he leaves a son Réjean (Réjane) Goulet of Hearst and daughters Chantal (Mario) Dillon and Joëlle (Marc) Robichaud, all of the Hearst area. Also surviving are his sisters Florence Huot of Sherbrooke, Que., Jeannine (Réal) Boisvert of Hearst, and Claudette (Roger) St-Onge and Denise (Clément) Sévigny, all of Disraeli, and sons Adéodat (Aline) of Disraeli, Harmel of Vancouver, and Gilles (Joanne) Goulet of Winnipeg, as well as six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.. Rev. Rémi Lessard directed the service at Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Cathedral. Internment will be at Monsignor Grenier Cemetery.
