Gerald Carriere, 44 Thompson Rd., Kapuskasing, died at Sensenbrenner Hospital on Feb. 15, 2004, three days before his 74th birthday. Mr. Carriere was born on Feb. 18, 1930 in Cobalt. He worked as a watchman for Spruce Falls Pulp and Paper. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and enjoyed playing the guitar, piano and accordion. Mr. Carriere was predeceased by his parents Esperance and Joseph, son Derek, brother Ernie and sister Francis Vigneualt. He is survived by his wife Doreen, daughter Valerie (Aurel) Godard of Kap, sons Richard (Jean) and Jerry (Kiyomi), all of Kap, sister-in-law Loretta Cull of Sudbury, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Fr. Fernand Villeneuve will officiate a private family service at a later time. Cremation at the Hillcrest Crematorium.
