RUDOLFSCHALLENBERGER 1928 - 2004 Schallenberger - It is with deepest sadness that the family of Rudolf Schallenberger announces his passing at the Kirkland and District Hospital on Monday, July 12, 2004 with his loving family by his side. Rudolf moved from Czechoslovakia to Canada in 1951, then relocated to Kirkland Lake in 1962. He worked for Wright Hargreaves for a short time, and began working at the Adam’s Mine as a Kiln Operator until his retirement. Rudolf took great pride and remained a faithful active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 87 for nearly 40 years. He is predeceased by his parents: John and Monika (nee Vlacic) Schallenberger. Rudolf is survived by his beloved wife Erika (nee Blum); his loving children: Rose and husband Randy Godfrey of New Liskeard, Irene and husband Alex Goubko of Rouyn and Monika and husband Mike Gelinas of Kirkland Lake; his wonderful grandchildren: Jennifer and Dawn Godfrey, Nicholas and Gregory Goubko, Justin and Joshua Gelinas. Rudy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as cousins in the Czech Republic. There will be a memorial service at the Tower Street First Baptist Church on Thursday, July 15th, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Peter Dempsey officiating.
