The funeral service for Hearst millwright Steve Carman Brunet, 35, of Jogues is to be held tomorrow morning (July 15th, 2004). He died July 11 from an accident at the Columbia Forest Products—Hearst panel operation (formerly Levesque Plywood Ltd) particleboard plant. Born Aug. 21, 1968 in Hearst, he was a longtime Jogues fire brigade volunteer. Employed for some 15 years at Columbia's plywood division, he had just begun as a particleboard division millwright this spring. Described by family as generous, charitable and a devoted family man, he enjoyed outdoors activities such as camping, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling, as well as working in his garage. He leaves his wife Lina (née Côté) Brunet, sons Martin and Daniel Brunet, parents Nicole and Jean-Charles Brunet, and parents in-law Françoise and André Côté, all of Jogues. Also surviving are his brothers Jesse (Patricia) of Jogues and Stacy Brunet of Quebec, and brother-in-law Marc (Louise Plamondon) Côté of Jogues, as well as two nieces and four nephews. Rev. Rémi Lessard is to direct the 10:30 a.m. service at Notre-Dame-de-lAssomption Cathedral in Hearst.. Interment will follow at St-Martyrs-Canadiens Cemetery.
