FOSS, Archie - Of Port Dover, in his 76th year, passed away at home on Monday, June 14, 2004, surrounded by his loving family. Archie is survived by his loving wife, Sally, five children and eight grandchildren. Debbie and Chris Truedell and children Beth, Adam, and Kyle, David Foss, Cheryl Foss, John and Theresa Foss and children Zachary, Carlie and Joel, Robert and Diana Foss and children Nathan and Garrett. Dear brother of Freda Campbell, Marilyn Boyce, Arthur, Kenneth and Neil and their families. Archie was predeceased by his parents Harry and Margaret Foss and his sister Leona McConnell. Archie and Sally had a beautiful love story that lasted more than 48 years. Their love of family is apparent in the amazing support shown by their immediate and extended family through Archie's illness. Archie's love of teaching followed him through his life with many of his students recognizing him for shaping their lives. He affected lives throughout Ontario, holding teaching and principal positions at NFCVI in Niagara Falls and Frontenac Secondary School in Kingston. He changed professions when many are thinking of retiring and moved to Toronto to become a significant contributor at the ROM. Archie and Sally went back to their beloved Niagara Region and settled in Port Dover in 1991. Their home was a central gathering place for all who loved the Foss's. In keeping with Archie's wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be Friday, June 18, 2004, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Thompson Waters Funeral Home, 102 First Ave., Port Dover (519-583-1530). A celebration of Life Service will be held, Saturday, June 19, 2004, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home Chapel. Reverend Brian Elder officiating. Then to Hetherington and Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Ave., Niagara Falls (905-354-5614) for a Memorial Service on Saturday, June 26, 2004 at 1 p.m. For those wishing, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
