MACDONALD, G. Gordon "Mickey" - On May 15, 2004 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 83. Predeceased by his wife Jean (1996). Father of Chris Macdonald (Marlene), Lynda Gray, Joanne Sheridan (Wayne), Mellissa Blake (Dan) and Hugh Macdonald (Shirley). Grandfather of eight and great grandfather of six. Brother of Norma Muir (Don), Isobel Flank and Beth Krieg (Les). Brother-in-law of Helen and Ewald and Oberlein and Helen Macdonald. Predeceased by his parents George and Violet Macdonald, his brothers Robert and Alan, sister Ella and son-in-law Ken. As a young man, Mickey joined the RCAF earning his pilots wings in the Second World War. Upon his return he worked various jobs before employment with the Regional Municipality of Niagara from its inception. He retired from the Chippawa Water Treatment Facility. He was an avid fisherman and never missed a chance to be on the water. He also loved bragging about his garden or an evening of cards with friends. Mickey was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 51, where he held various positions over the years. He will best be remembered for his Thursday night bingo calling, which he did for over 40 years, retiring at the age of 80. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Branch 51 on Wednesday, May 19th at 1 o'clock.
