Mabel M. Fernley 1923 - 2006 Mabel M. Fernley, 83, of Riverview went to be with her Lord & Savior on August 6, 2006 at her residence. She passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side. Mabel was born in Brookville, Albert County on January 18, 1923, the daughter of the late Guy and Myrtle (Canning) Wilbur. She spent her life in ministry beside her husband Rev. Walter Fernley. She was a member of the Moncton Wesleyan Church, the Senior Citizens Group at the church and a member of the Women's Missionary Society. Mabel has spent her life devoted to doing God's will and has made many friends all over, in the various churches they ministered in. She was known for her humility, hospitality, kindness and for her sweet smile. She was a great lady who will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever. She will be deeply missed by her best friend and loving husband, Rev. Walter Fernley; her daughter, Heather Duley (Danny) of Bangor; her son, Michael "Mickey" Fernley (Kendra McGarrigle) of Saint John; her precious grandchildren, Scott, Katie, Sarah and Tracy; great grandchildren Natasha and Jessi; and great great granddaughter, Rylee. She will also be missed by her six nieces. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Graham Fernley; her sister, Annie Butland; and brother, Milfred. She will be having private visitation. The Funeral Service will be held at the Moncton Wesleyan Church on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at 2pm with Dr. L.D. Buckingham officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB. Immediately following the service, the family will be meeting with relatives and friends at the church for further fellowship and refreshments. In lieu of flowers donations to the Christian Food Bank, Bethany Bible College, Moncton Wesleyan Church -Missions Fund or to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
