Loving and infinitely giving father to Peter, Dale (Kevin), Philip and Filomena (Jim). Inspirational grandfather to Philip, Kera, Peter, Frank, Maria and Matthew. Loving brother of Rosaline Rocchi and Mary Tassi. Dear brother-in-law of Francis Tassi, Mary and Fred Delsey and Rose and Bob Hand. Predeceased by his loving parents Peter and Filomena Tassi, his cherished grandson Carson Dale Blake, his brothers Jack, John, Guido, James and by sisters Nellie Caiazzo, Anne Ranalli, Laura Tassi, Lina Tassi and his brother-in-law Sam Volpini. Phil will be deeply and sorrowfully missed by his cherished nieces, nephews and friends. Phil Tassi was a retired employee of Dofasco, a pro-athlete, wonderful singer, great inventor and artist. He was the recipient of the Governor General's Medal of Bravery and Police Services Board Award of Courage. He loved all of God's Creation and held a special sorrow for the poor. He could never understand how there could be a world with war and hunger. He lived a life of service and his motto was: "Pass it on". Special thanks to Dr. D. Lee and Dr.Clive Davis and his team in the ICU West at Hamilton General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you honour him by making a charitable donation to Canadian Food for Children, c/o Dr. Simoni, 40 King George Rd., Toronto, M8X 1L3, or to a charity of your choice.
