[First Japanese- Canadian teacher in Ontario (1948) with the Hamilton School Board, also with the Toronto and Simcoe County Boards; former teacher at Huronia Regional Centre; and volunteer at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie for over 40 years.] Beloved wife of Min Furukawa and devoted mother of Mark of Hamilton; loved sister of Mary Varro (and the late Bert Varro of Toronto), Paul (Lil) Yamaguchi of Etobicoke and Frank (Jeannette) Yamaguchi of San Diego, CA; Aunt of Mary Jane, Michael, Terry, Jeffrey and Kevin.
