MITTENDORF, Gertrude Luzie - Passed away peacefully on August 25, 2006 at St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre. She is survived by her son Jim with daughter-in-law Julie and grandson Jamie, her daughter Lory Campbell and grandson Cody. Gerty has gone to the heavens to join the love of her life Arno (1993), her soulmate. Gerty fought a long courageous battle during which time she never lost her determination or the sparkle in her eyes. It is clear that she gained precious time with her family and friends through her optimism and her feistiness for life. She left this earth gratified with the fact that her children loved her unconditionally, and her grandsons cherished her. Our family would like to extend our thankfulness to Dr. Hadley and the staff at St. Joseph's Lifecare for their compassion, understanding and kindness through this difficult time. Gerty was very fortunate and thankful to have special friends so dedicated to her. You were all very special to her and she loved you dearly. Gerty was born November 16, 1925 in Goettingen, Germany, she was the daughter of Fischaner and Ernestine Fredersdorf, and sister-in-law to Rolf Mittendorf of Port Elgin. She will be remembered and missed for her years of involvement with the Canadian Kennel Club and the German Club of Brantford. Gerty leaves a legacy of her love for animals and her strong ties to nature for all its beauty, will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cremation Centre. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the S.P.C.A. would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to “THORPE BROTHERS' FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL“. 519-759-2211. www.mem.com “You will be dearly missed, never forgotten, Always loved“ 10317517 Saturday, August 26, 2006
