
MAGUIRE, Isaac - Surrounded by his family, Isaac Maguire, 82, passed away August 17, 2006 at the Kingston General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He faced death with the same dignity and strength he lived his life. Isaac will live on in his children and their families: Jim & Flo Maguire of Kingston; Stephen Maguire & Lorraine Dyke of Ottawa; David & Janette Maguire of Halifax; Robert Maguire of Ottawa; and Mary Maguire & Dan Jackson of Stratford. He will be sadly missed by his spouse and guardian angel, Margaret Gardner-Maguire. Also survived by his first wife, Gladys Maguire of Kingston. Loving grandfather of Jim, Shannon, Dylan, Cassie, Doug, Kelly, Chelsea, Mindy, and Timmy Maguire, and Matthew, Megan, and Dean Jackson. In grief also, his surviving brothers, Jim, Smyth, and Sam of Castlerock, Northern Ireland. Isaac was pre-deceased by his sister, Mary, and his brother, Jack. Born in Downhill, Northern Ireland, Isaac attended college then left to work in England at the British Transport Commission. He arrived in Canada in 1955 and was a proud employee of the Royal Bank of Canada for 35 years. Isaac was an avid rugby player who started a club from players in Port Hope and Peterborough and revitalized the Kingston Rugby Club in the mid 1960s, eventually becoming its President. He also loved running, walking, and dancing.
