O'BRIEN; Reverend Father William Beatty 'Bill' (Served for 56 years as a Roman Catholic Priest). Died suddenly in his 85th year in St. Catharines, Ontario on Monday, August 14th, 2006. Loving son of the late John Leonard O'Brien and Mary (nee Riordan). Beloved brother of Michael, Alan, Vincent and Paul (all predeceased). Lovingly missed by sister-in-law Katherine O'Brien of Orillia and by devoted cousin Mary Catherine O'Brien of Toronto. Cherished uncle of Michael and Sandra O'Brien (Australia), Mary Anne O'Brien (Orillia), Terry and Blanche O'Brien, David O'Brien, Robert and Bonnie Sue O'Brien, and Sheila O'Brien and Patrick Keyes (all of Toronto). Treasured great-uncle of Olivia, Liam, Kevin and Kayla. Father Bill was ordained on July 1st, 1950. He began in St. Catharines at the Cathedral of St. Catherine, then served at Christ the King (Longbranch) and was Pastor at St. Patrick's (Stayner) and St. Martin de Porres (Scarborough), he was most recenlty Pastor of St. Pius X (Bloor West Village) for over twenty years. His quiet strength, faith and sense of humour will be greatly missed by family and friends. The family would like to thank Monsignor Schaefer from the Parish of St. Denis, St. Catharines, for his tremendous support, spiritual guidance and friendship. The family will receive friends at the MUNDELL FUNERAL HOME, 79 West St. N., Orillia from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of the Guardian Angels, 115 West St. N., Orillia, on Friday, August 18, 2006 at 11 o'clock. Interment to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Orillia. Parish Prayers will be said in the Parlour on Thursday evening at 6:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society would be appreciated.
