
Pearl G. Smallwood CAPE TORMENTINE, NB - The death of Pearl Smallwood, age 87, of Cape Tormentine, occurred at the Westford Nursing Home, Port Elgin on Monday, August 21, 2006. Born in Bayfield, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Emily (Snowdon) McGlashing. She was a member of the Cape Tormentine United Church and the UCW. For many years she operated Smallwood Tourist Home and Cabins.She loved bowling, snowmobiling and quilting. Pearl will be sadly missed by her two sons, Edward (Pauline), Murray Corner and Clifford (Darlene), Cape Tormentine; a daughter, Gertrude (Kermath) Stright, Bayfield; two brothers, Oswald (Mary), and Roy (Phyllis), Moncton; one sister, Ada (Alonzo) Dobson, Cape Tormentine; six grandchildren, Derrick and Gordon, Derek and Dustin, Randy and Kimberly; eight great grandchildren, Samantha, Graham, Darcy, Ryan, Alex, Daniel and James; one great great grandchild, Madison. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest in 1996; granddaughter, Stephanie; brothers, Franklyn, Harvey, Russell, Robert and Ernest and sister, Irene. Pearl's remains have been entrusted into the care of Jones Funeral Home, 3 W. Main St., Port Elgin (538-2241). Pearl's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 24, 2006 at 11 am, Mr. Bill Drysdale officiating. Following the burial in the Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin, all are invited to a reception at the funeral home.
