GILLIS, DONALD H.V. The death of Donald H.V. Gillis of Hampton occurred August 21, 2006 at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre. He was born in Hampton, son of the late Hurley and Annie (Santer) Gillis. Don was a veteran of WWII serving with the Royal Canadian Navy. He was a member of Hampton Branch 28, Royal Canadian Legion. Don was a sports enthusiast. He is survived by two sisters Joyce Mersereau, Moncton, Irene Bettle, Hampton; three brothers Doug Gillis, Betty, Napanee, ON, Paul Gillis, Penticton, BC, Earl Gillis (Shirley), Oromocto; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother Freeman Gillis. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton with visiting 7-9pm Wednesday. The funeral will be held Thursday, 10:00am, at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Hampton. Interment in the adjoining cemetery. A legion tribute will be held Wednesday, 6:45pm at the funeral home.
