Joyce Adelaide Houle Peacefully, with her family and friends by her side, Joyce Houle passed away at her residence at Ebb & Flow on August 22nd at the age of 68 years following a brief battle with cancer. Joyce was a loving and caring mother and friend. She was raised by her aunt Catherine McLean and took Walter, Lloyd and the late Johnny McLean as her brothers of Lake Manitoba Reserve. She met and married the love of her life Alfred Houle on November 4, 1954. They raised their family in Bacon Ridge. After her sister-in-law Edna Flett passed away, Joyce took her nieces and nephews as her extended family and gave them advice and looked after them. Lena Shuttleworth of Bacon Ridge took Joyce as her sister. Joyce was a kind and generous woman who was loved by all who knew her. She will be sadly missed. Joyce was predeceased by her husband Alfred Joseph Houle; her parents Alfred & Margaret St. Paul; one sister Lily Verna; one grandson Timothy Weslie Campbell; her in-laws Jerry & Alice Houle; her brothers-in-law Stanley Houle, Lionel Houle, George D. Malcolm and Joe Whitford; her uncle Norbert St. Paul and her sister-in-law Edna Flett all of Ebb & Flow, as well as Walter and Eva Sutherland of Sandy Bay and Johnny McLean of Lake Manitoba. Joyce leaves to mourn her passing and cherish many fond memories, her sister Clara (Del) Garneau of Ebb & Flow; her children Garry (Yvonne) of Winnipeg, Kelson of Bacon Ridge, Dwayne of Bacon Ridge, Tommy of Dauphin, Maurice (Sandra) of Dunseath, North Dakota, Vivian (Herman Spence) of Eddystone, Ann Marie (Harold Anderson) of Dauphin River, Corrine (Wayne Whitford) of Winnipeg and Lily (Jeffrey Swan) of Lake Manitoba. They also raised two grandsons as their own, Michael Cory (Darlene) of Dauphin and Jordan (Kim) of Winnipeg as well as her foster daughter Angie Sumner of Mallard, her aunt Martha St. Paul of Ebb & Flow, her 26 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, her sisters-in-law Gladys Whitford and Leona Malcolm of Ebb & Flow and her brothers-in-law Russell (Margaret) Houle of Vogar and Geordie "Big G" Houle of Ste. Rose along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Traditional Wake and Prayers will be held on Friday, August 25th, beginning at 5:00 P.M. from Joyce's residence at Ebb & Flow. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 26th at 1:00 P.M. from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Ebb & Flow. Fr.
