CHAPLIN, Francis William. 1919 - 2006. Passed away in Montreal peacefully on Saturday August 5, 2006, at the age of eight-six years. He leaves behind his wife Hildred Rena. his daughter Delcie, his grandchildren Michelle (David), Laura and his great-grandchildren Nicholas and Carissa. He also leaves behind a much-loved extended family. Frank served overseas in WWII with the R.C.A.F. Bomber Command 420 Snowy Owl Squadron. As a long-standing member of the St. Lambert Branch 68, R.C.L., he received the Meritorious Service Medal and Palm Leaf for his devotion to the R.C.L. Frank also served as a District Deputy Grand Master of the Fraternal Order of Masons in the state of Vermont. He was honored to be the second recipient of The American Legion's "Canadian Friendship Award." In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ste. Anne's Veteran's Hospital Foundation (305 Ch. Des Anciens Combattants, Ste. Anne-de-Bellevue H9X 1Y9). Visitation will take place at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home 5610 Sherbrooke St. W. (corner Marcil) (514) 483-1870, on Tuesday, August 8 starting at 12 pm followed by a funeral service in the chapel of the funeral home at 1 p.m. Published in the Montreal Gazette from 8/7/2006 - 8/8/2006
