LAURIN, Elsie Nellie Born February 5, 1921 in Grandview, Manitoba. Elsie passed away peacefully in her sleep at Carlingview Manor in Ottawa, Ontario on August 2, 2006 in her 86th year. She grew up in Grandview, Manitoba, volunteered for military service attaining the rank of Sergeant in the Canadian Women's Army Corps between 1943 and 1946. She was predeceased by her husband Philorum in 1958, brother Peter Chubey (Elsie) in 2003 and sister Mary Lulashnyk (Nick) in 1987. Elsie is survived by her two sons, Robert (Nicole) of Orleans, ON, and James of Nepean, ON, and three daughters Patricia Keane (Robert) of Surrey, B.C., Louise Baber (Wesley) of Boston Bar, B.C. and Joann Laurin of Ottawa, ON, and sisters Anne (Steve) Stefanow of Saskatoon and Alice (Bob) Vopni of Swan River, Manitoba, 11 grandchildren: Karen Ann Leal (Jamie), Jamie and Kevin Laurin (Gemma), Jennifer and Colin Keane, Catherine Kramer (Derrick), Richard Laurin (Trina), Karen Ann Wise (Richard), Jessy, Kyle and Daryl Staniszewski; 11 great grandchildren Branden Laurin, Owen and Hannah Leal, Daylen and Kalum Laurin, Alysha and Kirsten Kramer, Eryn Laurin, Rianna, and twins Antonia and Alyssa Cussetto/Wise. Heartfelt thanks to all the staff of the 6th floor at Carlingview Manor for the kind care given to Elsie. Special thanks also to her devoted nephew Lorne Lulashnyk for his loving care of his favourite aunt.
