CURRIE, James C.G.A. Surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 13, 2006, at the age of 85. Devoted husband of Mary Calderwood for 63 wonderful years. Mary predeceased him on June 13, 2006. Beloved father of Diana (Frank) of Amherst, NS, David (Heather) of Kars, Kathy (Jim) of St. Catharines and Neil (Lori) of Ottawa. Cherished Poppa of Jennifer, Julie, Jeffrey, Christina, Alison, Alex and great-grandfather of Andrew and Sarah. Predeceased by his parents, Nathaniel and Susan Currie and his brothers and sisters, Archie, Julia, Jenny, Susan, Nancy and Nat. Born in Dumbarton, Scotland in 1920, Jim came to Canada with his family in 1930. As a member of the RCAF, Jim served in Radar Defence at Ucluelet, BC during WWII. He was a long time federal public servant with 29 years at the Royal Canadian Mint and the remainder of his career was spent at the Departments of Customs and Excise and Supply and Services. Following his retirement, Jim and Mary managed Castle Antiques and spent many hours antique hunting on the backroads and attending shows in Canada, the northern states and Great Britain. Jim was a long time member and Past Chief of the Sons of Scotland Benevolent Association, Camp Argyle #26. As a result of his interest in Scottish history and love of his homeland, Jim took pleasure in sharing this knowledge with his family and enjoyed numerous trips to Scotland with them. A special thank-you to Lucy of Bayshore Home Health and the staff and residents of Riverpark Place for their care and compassion. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, August 17, 2006 at 10 a.m. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery.
