
PORTER, Robert Bob passed away with dignity at the Ottawa Hospital (General Campus) on August 16, 2006 with his family at his side. He is deeply loved by his wife of 61 years, Jean (Moulton) Porter, children, Myron (Lorraine) of Westport, and Marsha (Tom) Gillespie of Ottawa. Jessica, Lindsay, and Daniel Gillespie, Kyle, Jordan, and Kristi Porter cherished their grandfather's caring ways and subtle humour. Bob's dear siblings, Mabel Porter of Ottawa, Bill Porter of Smiths Falls, Burt (Carol) Porter of Whitby survive. He is predeceased by brothers Jim (Alice), Lloyd (Bessie) and sister-in-law Keitha Porter. Bob was quietly proud of his service during World War II, his associations with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 95, and 443 Wing of the Royal Canadian Air Force Association (Charter member). He retired after many years of service with Bourk's Ignition, Smiths Falls. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home Smiths Falls from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, August 18. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 1 p.m. Interment: St. Bede's Cemetery, Nolan's Corners.
