
O'NEILL, Basil A. A Cape Bretoner Peacefully, August 23, 2006, after a short illness, at the age of 92. Beloved husband of Hazel (Kinslow), greatly missed by son Russell F. and Fran of Ottawa, daughter Cathy and Paul Pribis of Middlegrove N.Y., five grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Survived by older brothers Goar of Halifax and Louis of San Francisco. Predeceased by parents Thomas Lawrence and Agnes Alice (McGillivary); sisters and brothers Irene, Alice, Clara, Mary and Gerard, William, Patrick, Thomas and George. Former coal miner, veteran of Canadian Army WWII and served in RCAF. Known for his spirited manner and great sense of humour. "Thank You" to Dr. Schneider and the attentive and caring nursing and general staff of the Glebe Centre here in Ottawa. No visitation. "Going Home" for interment at St. Anne's Parish Cemetery in Glace Bay. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
