FOWLIE, John 83, Wallace, Nova Scotia, passed away Sunday August 27, 2006 in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche. Born in Glasgow Scotland he was the elder son of the late Hector and Agnes (Turner) Fowlie. John was a Captain in the Royal Engineers, serving in Europe and India. After the war he completed his training as an architect and town planner, working in Scotland. He immigrated with his family to Canada in 1960 to join CMHC in Halifax and then in Ottawa. He retired in 1976. He converted Oliver School House to a lovely home. In the past John was active in the community, serving as Chair of the Sunrise Trail Museum and LFMH. John was a talented artist and we will treasure his sketches, water colours and weavings. He is survived by his wife Joan (Turner), resident at East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash, N.S.; sons Michael, Aylmer, PQ, and Colin (Teresa), Wallace; granddaughters Maya, Toronto, and Jen, Halifax; also by his brother Hector (Christine) and niece and nephews in Scotland. He is fondly remembered by Christine, Ottawa. There will be a family gathering at a later date. Donations may be made to North Shore Health Services Foundation (Renovation Project) PO Box 40, Tatamagouche, N.S. B0K 1V0. Published in the Ottawa Citizen from 8/29/2006 - 8/30/2006
