
MITHAM, Walter Hyde. The death of Walter Hyde Mitham of Kingston, NB, husband of Betty (Goodday) Mitham occurred August 30, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, NB. He was born in Winnipeg, son of the late Walter and Irene (Hyde) Mitham. Walter was an accredited real estate appraiser working in Montreal, Winnipeg, Saint John and Halifax, retiring in 1989 and moving to Kingston. He served with the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII, on convoy duty in the North Atlantic. Walter is survived by his wife Betty; one daughter, Sheila Smith-Burns (Art), Hampton, NB; two sons, Bruce Mitham (Sarah), Midland, NB, Peter Mitham (May), Vancouver; one sister, Mary DeJong, Montreal; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton with visitation 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, at Trinity Church, Kingston, NB. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery following cremation.
