Guy Meilleur, died at Sudbury Memorial Hospital on April 19, 2006. He was 76 years old. He enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. Mr. Meilleur was predeceased by his parents Charles Meilleur and Irène Credger, by his first wife Cécile Gendron and their newborn son Jean-Jacques and siblings Jacques, Rock (Georgette), Joseph (Rachelle) and Denise (late Jean-Noël). He is survived by his wife Rita (née Ouimette) and children Réal (Nathalie) of Kapuskasing, Jocelyne, Jacques (Linda), Yvonne (Yvon) Mercier, Denis (Joanne), Irène (Bernard) Cyr all of Cochrane . Also surviving are siblings Jeannot (Aurore), Jeannette (late Gilles) Duguay, Yolande (Adrien) Dery and grandchildren Michele and Louise, Jenessa, Rémi and Julie, Stéphanie and Martin, Mathieu Mackenzie and Makayla. Rev. Hervé Sauvé officiated at the funeral service at the Transfiguration Church in Cochrane. Mr. Meilleur will be interred at the Cochrane Roman Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association. Funeral director was the Génier Gauthier Funeral Home in Cochrane.
