Kathleen was born on June 27, 1914 in Amsterdam, Holland where she stayed until both her and her family moved to Brighton, England in 1932. In 1946 Kathleen met and married Joseph Popowezki, who was serving in the Canadian Army at the time. Kathleen, a war-bride, came to Canada to begin farming with her husband in the area of Onoway. Kathleen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Christine Popowezki of Calgary; her grandchildren, Devin and Amanda Popowezki of Calgary; her sister-in-law Martha Popwiecki; and by her niece Victoria Farnalls of Sidney, B.C.
