PICKARD, Margaret Ann Christina (nee Downes-White) - In loving memory of Margaret Ann Christina Pickard (nee Downes-White), 96 years of Sudbury, who passed away Monday morning, May 8th, 2006 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. She was born in Sprucedale and married Chester Wm. Pickard in Sudbury in 1932. Margaret was raised in Depot Harbour and educated in Parry Sound. She moved to Sudbury in 1929. She resided on Baker St. for 70 years prior to moving to the Walford Retirement Residence in 2002. A longtime employee of the Sudbury Children's Aid Society, she retired in 1974. A faithful member of Knox Presbyterian Church she had been an active member of the Knox's Women's Association. Margaret will be remembered as a caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend. She was honest, reliable and loved by all who knew her. Beloved wife of Chester Wm. Pickard predeceased 1973. Loving mother of Donald (wife Barbara) of Sudbury and Franklin predeceased 1996. Dear mother-in-law of Audrey of Oakville. Cherished grandmother of Barbara of Burlington, Beverly (husband Andrew Pegg) of Mississauga, Dawn (husband Scott Cosby) of Sudbury and Matthew (wife Chantal Benoit) of Toronto; great grandchildren Robert, Kristina, Clark, Jackson, Laine and Jolie. Dear daughter of Thomas and Margaret (White) Downes predeceased. Dear sister of Beatrice Adams predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Thursday, May 11th, 2006 at 10 a.m. Interment in the Parklawn Cemetery.
