
DAMEN Anna Mae Anna Mae Damen passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at the Bethany Care Centre, Airdrie. She was born May 17, 1927 in Bassano, Alberta to Herb and Edith Crory, and was raised on a farm in Hussar, until moving to Strathmore as a teenager. She leaves to mourn, two daughters, Arlene Jones (Rob Graham) and Valerie (Tom) Colvin; grandchildren, Clay (Christine) Colvin, Lisa (Shane) Casey; great-grandchildren, Connor and Shayna Casey and Grady Colvin; sister Hazel Gray; as well as her beloved little dog Pepper. Anna Mae also leaves two stepchildren, Carol (Allan) Munchrath and Doug (Noreen) Damen; and numerous step-grandchildren and great-step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her first husband Lester Jones in 1971; her second husband John Damen in 2003; her parents; brothers, Clayton, Milton and Archie; and sister Lois. Anna Mae was a linotype operator at the Strathmore Standard, and had various other jobs over the years. She had a great love for horses and spent many hours knitting, crocheting and doing needlepoint, leaving behind many beautiful heirlooms for her family. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Foothills Hospital, Calgary, Dr. DeWaal, and a special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Bethany Care Centre, Airdrie, who gave her the best care possible. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, May 25, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Bethany Care Centre (Bag Service 3, 1736 - 1 Avenue N.W., Airdrie, AB, T4B 2C4).
