LEBLANC Rene Georges January 22, 1912 - May 29, 2006 Longtime resident of Canmore, Rene LeBlanc, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2006 at the age of 94. Family and friends were at his side to comfort his passing. Rene's twilight years were spent in the compassionate and professional care of the Golden Eagle View extended care unit of the Canmore General Hospital. Rene is survived by his loving wife Agnes; his son Richard (Sheila) LeBlanc, son Julien (Sharon) LeBlanc; daughter Carmen (Bob) Carron, daughter Margaret-Ann (Art) Bleakney, and daughter Marie-Ellen (Earl) Blain. At the time of his death, Rene had nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 1, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Canmore. A reception will follow at the Canmore senior centre (Creekside Hall) behind Stonewaters (formerly Marra's). Rene's remains are to be cremated and buried in the family plot in Edmonton as per his wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canmore and Area Health Care Foundation - Golden Eagle View.
